2022’nin “Uluslararası Cam Yılı” olmasıyla ilgili 28 Nisan 2021’de açıklanacak karar öncesinde de ilgililer, www.iyog2022.org web sitesi üzerinden başvuru yaparak ücretsiz olarak destek olabiliyor.
Konuyla ilgili açıklamalarda bulunan LAV Genel Müdürü Tuğrul Baran şunları söyledi: “Birleşmiş Milletler’in Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Hedefleri doğrultusunda kaynak verimliliği, atık azaltımı ve etkin çevre yönetimi gibi önemli noktalar, LAV olarak bizim de odaklandığımız ve üzerine çalıştığımız konular arasında yer alıyor. Burada günlük yaşantımızın vazgeçilmezleri arasında yer alan cam, pek çok alandaki kullanımıyla, sağlıklı ve geri dönüşebilir özellikleri sayesinde hem atık azaltımına yardımcı oluyor hem de kaynak verimliliğini artırıyor. Sürdürülebilir geleceğin önemli madenleri arasında yer alan cam için cam dünyasının en etkili organizasyonu konumundaki Uluslararası Cam Komisyonu (ICG)’nun 2022’nin ‘Uluslararası Cam Yılı’ sayılması için yaptığı çalışmalara desteklerimizi sürdürüyoruz. Uluslararası Cam Komisyonu’nun Birleşmiş Milletler’e yaptığı başvuruda camın Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Hedefleri’nin pek çoğunda aktif rol aldığından bahsediliyor. Sağlık ve kaliteli yaşam, nitelikli eğitim, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği, temiz su ve sanitasyon, erişilebilir ve temiz enerji, sanayi, yenilikçilik ve altyapı, sürdürülebilir şehirler ve topluluklar, sorumlu üretim ve tüketim, iklim eylemi ve sudaki yaşam hedefleri gibi çoğu BM Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Hedefi için farklı alanlardaki kullanımıyla fark yaratan cam, sürdürülebilir bir gelecek için önemli bir potansiyele sahip. Biz de işi cam üretmek olan bir şirket olarak camın doğaya zarar vermeyen özelliği ve topluma faydasını her zaman göz önünde bulunduruyoruz. Dünyanın en büyük sofra camı üreticilerinden bir firma olarak cam ile hayatın her anına keyif katmayı hedefliyoruz bu sebeple 2022’nin ‘Uluslararası Cam Yılı’ olması için biz de çalışmalarımızı sürdürüyoruz.”
Açıklamada görüşlerine yer verilen GCA Genel Müdürü Dr. Abdullah Gayret ise “İnsanlık tarihi camın yarattığı dönüm noktalarıyla doludur. 3 bin 500 yıl önce cam boncuk üretimiyle başlayan macera, kozmosun harikalarına Galileo’nun teleskopuyla gözlerimizi açmamızı sağladı. Mikroskoplar, hücreleri incelememize ve hastalıkları anlamamıza, ampuller geceleri çalışmaların devam etmesine imkân sağladı. Camın dünyamız üzerindeki olumlu etkisi genişlemeye devam ediyor. Şimdi dünyayı camdan görüyoruz. Telefon ekranlarımız, güneş panelleri, cam takviyeli rüzgar türbinleri gibi birçok alana cam entegre edildi. Enerji, mimari, biyotıp, ecza alanında kullanılan farmasötik cam ambalajlar, tarım, bilgi & iletişim, elektronik, havacılık, optik, otomotiv, dekorasyon, gıda, içecek ve daha birçok alanlardaki cam kullanımı Birleşmiş Milletler'in Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Hedeflerine katkıda bulunuyor. Cam, gelişimi sağlayan en önemli malzemelerden biri olduğunu binlerce yıllık geçmişiyle kanıtlamıştır. Önümüzdeki dönemde de gerek insanların tedavisinde kullanılacak biyo-çözünür camlarla sağlık alanında; inovatif ve yüksek verimli fotovoltaik panellerle yenilenebilir enerji sektöründe, gerekse UV koruması sağlayan veya farklı kaplama ve kompozisyonlarla ambalaja antimikrobiyal ve antivirütik özellikler kazandıran gıda ve içecek ambalajlarıyla camın yeni dünyada öncelikli malzemelerden olacağını ön görebiliyoruz. Camın modern toplum üzerindeki bu kalıcı etkisi ile, 2022 yılının ‘Uluslararası Cam Yılı’ olması için biz de desteğimizi ortaya koyuyoruz.” dedi.
LAV and GCA support the proclamation of the "2022 UN International Glass Year”.

The aim of the year will be to emphasize the sustainability, financial, technological, and scientific aspects and values of glass.
